Hollywood Riviera is a hillside coastal neighborhood that straddles the cities of Torrance and Redondo Beach. It was developed beginning in the 1920s and named for its early Hollywood-celebrity residents and its Mediterranean-feeling slope down to the Pacific. The community spans portions of ZIP codes 90277 and 90505.
Riviera Village, along Catalina Avenue between Avenue I and Avenue G, is the neighborhood's walking-village heart — coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, a year-round farmers market, and the kind of small-business density that draws people from across the South Bay. The Hilltop section rises above the village toward Hollywood Riviera's namesake bluffs.
Torrance Beach sits at the southern end of the neighborhood — the start of The Strand bike path that runs all the way to Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades. Esplanade in Redondo Beach runs along the bluff, lined with apartments, condos, and one of the most photographed sunset stretches in the South Bay.
