Royal Palm Beach is a village in central Palm Beach County, incorporated in 1959 and built largely on canal-laced flatland west of West Palm Beach. The village covers about 11 square miles and sits at the junction of the original Acme Improvement District drainage canals that opened much of the western communities to development.
Daily life centers on the Royal Palm Beach Commons Park — a 175-acre civic park with lakes, walking trails, and the village's amphitheater — and along the Okeechobee and Southern Boulevard commercial corridors. The Mall at Wellington Green and the Wellington equestrian grounds sit immediately south.
Royal Palm Beach is served by the School District of Palm Beach County. The village has grown steadily as the western communities have absorbed Palm Beach County's expanding suburban population and remains one of the most family-oriented addresses in the central county.
